Process Software Releases SpyCatcher Enterprise 5.1
Offers Enhanced Reporting with the New Real-Time Spyware Detection Engine

Framingham, MA, June 11, 2008 - Process Software, a premier supplier of communications software solutions to mission-critical environments, today announces the release of SpyCatcher Enterprise v5.1.

The latest version of SpyCatcher offers enhanced web-based reporting capabilities and custom groups to its new spyware detection platform called Profiling Engine which became available March 2008. Now administrators can run and schedule hundreds of different reports that provide them with a better understanding of the threats in their environment. Administrators can calculate SpyCatcher Enterprise’s return of investment with a regular summary of spyware detections. With every spyware detection reported, administrators can drill down further on the summary to get a list of PCs that the spyware application was found on, when these PCs were updated last and the possible effects of the spyware on the PCs . All reports can be emailed in PDF, XML, or CSV format. Reports are also archived in SpyCatcher Enterprise.

In most enterprises, computers are grouped by geography and/or department within the company's Active Directory. SpyCatcher's integration with Active Directory allows administrator to set a policy specifically for any of those groups of computers. In this release, administrators can also create custom groups of various systems that may be dispersed across various regions or departments within SpyCatcher. These custom groups are assigned their own policies for that which takes precedence over any Active Directory group policy. This gives administrators greater flexibility in how to manage policies without requiring any changes to the company's Active Directory.

SpyCatcher Enterprise’s newly architected Profiling Engine includes advanced behavioral analysis for proactive protection, which is better at identifying spyware than the first-generation behavioral analysis solutions. It analyzes and correlates a broad range of suspicious behaviors with applications and systems in a network. The results of the analysis are put into proper context so administrators can set policies on what applications are allowed to run in their organization.

SpyCatcher Enterprise includes additional layers of technology that complement the advanced behavioral detection. It analyzes potential threats against a database of legitimate applications, certified vendors that have digitally signed their software, and spyware signatures. The Profiling Engine includes DeepDefense™, an application-intercepting technology which blocks known spyware from executing by intercepting the operating system calls that launch these applications. Most antispyware solutions leave PCs vulnerable to problems by allowing malware to run in memory before being detected and cleaned. SpyCatcher Enterprise prevents most spyware from installing and damaging systems.

“SpyCatcher Enterprise 5.1 was the result of several customer-driven enhancements,” said Brian McDonald, Process Software President and CEO. “The advanced web-based reporting capabilities added to the new spyware Profiling Engine platform provide customers with an immediate return on investment because it allows customers to mitigate threats and prevent productivity loss.”
